In the 1840  potato  famine in Ireland  that left many people with two choice they had: choice number one is to immigrate to America, choice number two is there to starve in Ireland  with no choice . A majority of the Irish  immigrants were settle in Boston  where the Irish population increased from 30,000 thousand  to more than 10, 000  of Irish people every year. The Irish were treated so poorly and badly as to compare to the Americans were treated fairly more than the Irish, of the treatment  of the German immigrants.
