The aborigines were the first settlers in Australia. They are said to have migrated into the tropical rainforests of Australia over 40,000 years ago. They were mainly hunters-gathers and those who lived close to the oceans took on fishing as their source of livelyhood. Later on the British (thought James Cook) would explore their way into Australia and they found that the Aborigines had already settled there.
