What do you think is one problem with having political parties?

Before George Washington officially stepped down from the precedency, he warned the people to not divide into political parties, because it will divide our country. And George Washington was a very wise man. But we did not listen, and he turn out to be absolutely right. Today, we have the Republicans and Democrats, against each other, along with other parties, and some people don't even know of them. Our country is divided, and political parties is just one reason why.
