The Declaration of Independence (DOI) can be compared to a break up letter because Jefferson explained why America wanted its independence from the tyrant King George III. YOU’RE Your job is to create your OWN breakup letter to King George III using the information from the DOI! Use the DOI Breakdown handout below to help you! You must include:

Introduction (Preamble) – Prepare the King for what is about to happen

Reasons for the breakup (These must be ACTUAL REASONS the colonies wanted to separate from the British)
