1. Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth

2. she swore she would be a maiden for all of eternity (which means she swore off men just like Artemis)

3. In some versions she is one of the 12 Olympians, in others she forfeited her seat so that Dionysus (the god of wi.ne) could become an Olympian

4. the reason she is goddess of the hearth is because she values domesticity, family, and home. a great symbol for all of those things would be a hearth which is what kept a family warm

5. she is both the oldest and the youngest of the Greek Olympians depending on how you look at it, she was the first born (also the first swallowed) but because she was the first swallowed she was the last one to be thrown up
