Why should US citizens volunteer to improve conditions in their community? A. Citizens are required to volunteer by the US Constitution. Citizens are paid generously for their volunteer work. Citizen-led organizations are the only groups with the skills to improve the government. Citizen-led organizations always have larger budgets to work with than the government. Citizens have a responsibility to serve their community so that society functions well.
