Mahayana Buddhists sometimes criticize Theravada Buddhists for being too focused on their own salvation. Why do they think this is the case? Conversely, Theravadans criticize Mahayanans for holding beliefs that contradict the original teachings of the Buddha. What's the basis for this critique?
