What evidence of the effects of colonization in the Americas can you see today?

One example is the names of cities, towns, states, etc. While you will see some Native American town names, the vast majority are in the language of the colonizers or named after colonizers. For example: Washington state, Richmond, Virginia, Quebec, San Diego. The languages are English, French, and Spanish.
