Jefferson and adam's campaign was very similar to campaigns of today. It was one of the first campaign's where real emotion got involved. Emotions got involved so much that nasty rumors even spread, such as John Adam's being a hermaphrodite. This reminds me of something you might hear in a modern day fashion against today's political leaders. Just like today's elections, they ran on important ideas of the time, such as who to support in the french war, in today, our political parties today also can be seen doing this with modern problems.
