freedom of press

the right to bear arms for a well regulated militia

a police officer must have a warrant given to him by a judge and probable cause is also needed

you must have due process of law (day in court) before you are convicted

protects citizens against unreasonable searches and seizures

the right for citizens not to quarter (house) soldiers

jurors are selected for their lack of bias (they must be impartial)

freedom of petition

you cannot be tried for the same crime twice (double jeopardy)

unenumerated rights, people have more rights than the ones listed in the Constitution

you have the right to sue someone in court, and have a trial by jury, when the value in the argument is more than $20

you must be told of charges

freedom of assembly

no excessive bail

the gov't can take your land for public use ONLY if it provides us "fair market value"

right to speedy trial by a jury

freedom of religion

reserved powers- powers not specifically given to congress/federal gov't are given to the states or the people.

freedom of speech

you do not have to testify against yourself (self-incrimination, pleading the fifth)

eminent domain

you must be provided a lawyer if you cannot afford one (right to legal counsel)
