The Maya also developed the first complete writing system known as Maya script. They built great cities which consist of high-rise temples, palaces and towering pyramids. One of the most striking features of Maya settlements were raised limestone roads. The Maya made observations of the heavenly body, recording the movements of the sun, moon, stars.
