Recall Martin Luther, that German monk who saw injustice occur (selling indulgences for forgiveness of sin in violation of Christian Biblical practice). He
took a stand against it by posted his 95 Theses on the church door. Ultimately, he suffered for his decision, he was excommunicated from (or, kicked out
of the Catholic church which he loved dearly). What issues today do you think deserve protest? Can you imagine yourself taking a stand against injustice
even if it cost you something you loved? Status, position, possessions, freedom? What stood out to you most about Luther's actions in 1517? Explain
your answer. What social justice movements do you gravitate toward?
