Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright, often referred to collectively as the Wright brothers, were two US engineers and inventors, among the most important aviators of the pioneer era.

They are generally considered to be the first to successfully fly a "heavier-than-air" motorized machine with a pilot on board, having managed to get their Flyer up to four times in a long-lasting and substantially controlled manner, the 17 December 1903.
