How did the great compromise settle the issue of voting representation in the newly formed federal government?

The Great Compromise happened because of the issue between the New Jersey and Virginia plan. Where they were arguing about the amount of representation they get in the government.

The Great Compromise made 2 things essentially.
1.) It made larger states happy by creating the House of Representatives which made representation by population of the state.

2.) Made smaller states happy by creating the Senate which let each state have 2 votes.

Ultimately the Great Compromise made it so that every state felt like they had a say in the government no matter of size. It met everybody needs while also making sure no state had more power over the others.

The Great Compromise resolved the issue of representation in the U.S. legislature. Large states believed they should have greater representation because of their larger population, and smaller states wanted all states represented equally because they did not want to be overpowered in congress.
