What was a major problem in former colonized countries of africa, once the colonizers left? only the borders were the issue. they had no knowledge of how to run a country. the colonizers left without explaining how to continue trade. the colonizers had run a tight ship that could easily continue without them present so there were no problems.

Multi-ethnic states that had no logic to their boundaries.  The colonizers created colonies without regard to where one ethnic group began and another ended.  This caused situations with many ethnic groups in one state or one ethnic group spread overy many states.  Both led to conflict.
