How does lin see the different motives of chinese and europeans in conducting trade activities?

Lin sees the Chinese as exhibiting many quality items that are of really important for other countries who import it. They identify the imported goods as low quality “playthings”, which could just be "easily dispensed without causing any ill effect”.
