Cuban missile crisis what was it about?

The Cuban Missile Crisis was a event that involved Russia and the U.S. and it lasted October 16, 1962 - October 26, 1962, and the big deal about this was that Russia had put missiles in Cuba. this was caught by our satellite that was passing over at the time. When President Kennedy found out that we had missiles pointing at us a few miles of the coast, he threatened to do the the same or go to war. Thus the Russians (or Castro) decided it wasn't a really good idea to go to war about.
