How does the development of the international space station show that space exploration has become a cooperative endeavor?

It's become a cooperative endeavor because it encompasses space agencies from all over the world and nations work together in improving the overall knowledge of space and space exploration. It's not like in the sixties any more where the space race held people from working together as they were focused on helping only their own country as if it was a competitive thing.
