Which must have the characteristics of being a nonprofit organization, and be independent of any government and nonviolent?

Many organizations follow these rules, as most are for a cause and not there for the money. (Although they are there to make money for their cause, the organization shouldn't have any net worth.) 

Many non-governmental organizations refuse formal governmental funding, and are primarily run by volunteers.
