Uplift forces and erosional forces causes two different effects to the earth surface. Uplit forces will cause an increase in the formation of high terrain such as mountains while erosional forces will cause an increase in the formation of lower terrains.
Within the Taconic Mountains and the Adirondacks, a lot of higher terrains were formed compared to the lower terrains, which prove the uplift dominance in the past.
