What were the social, political and economic objectives of the encomienda system and its impact on the indigenous populations?

The encomienda  is a system brought by the Spaniards to manage its colonies. It involves a kind of labor system widely implemented in the Philippines. In the encomienda system, the encomenderos have the right to collect tribute to the lands they took. It also became an award to faithful servants that served the King of Spain, they also call it the Spanish Crown. The objective is to have stronger political, economic, and social support to the Spanish Crown. This helped them maximize raw materials production through forced labor.
