What are some main reasons why the confederate monuments should be removed? be detailed and explain.

Well, I believe that monuments honor and celebrate the person they're named for. For reasons of preserving history, I believe Confederate monuments should be reserved to museums or people's private property. Museums explain and display the historical significance of people, places, and things in history. Being that the Confederate army LOST the war, and we are a UNITED STATES of America, and no longer make out living off the blood and sweat of enslaved black people, I don't think we need any monuments honoring that period in history displayed on public streets and buildings. While many Confederate soldiers fought hard and valiantly for "what they believed in", it should NOT be the same belief that we, free, citizens of the CURRENT United States believe in or should continue to Honor in this current time in our Country I for one, do not want my taxes being used to support these public monuments. People continue to say "It's my heritage!" to justify continued honoring of these Confederates who fought so valiantly to preserve slavery and disproportionate lifestyles. Well, part of that heritage was their forefathers owning and degrading other human beings for their own financial and political gain. I think it speaks volumes of peoples' true identity and moral code when they continue to use this rationale to think all Americans should pay homage or be proud of such a terroristic, inhumane, lineage!!!
