What was one way the federalists cultivated support for the constitution?

During 1787 there was a public debate amongst states whether or not there was a need to draft a new Constitution. The Federalists convinced the public through publishing a series of essays known as the Federalist Papers. It was able to convince New Yorkers to ratify the Constitution.
