Between 1920-1940 the lives of people in the U. S. experienced significant shifts. Which events impacted their lives? In what ways were their lives changed? What differences existed between the lives of Mexican immigrants, Mexican Americans, African Americans, and women etc.? How did women and people of color in particular, attempt to take charge of their own lives? (It will be easier to select a few events to discuss along with two different communities.
