Explain the reasoning of why the United States became involved in Vietnam? Was the reasoning strong? Did communism in Southeast Asia affect the United States? (5 - 7 sentences)

I have the reasoning so far, so I just need help with the last two questions. Here is my reasoning: "The reason that the United states got involved in Vietnam was because they wanted to prevent them from having a communist take over the entire nation. America's goal was to try and contain communism from spreading."
