For this assessment, you must choose one of the modern genocides covered in this lesson to study in greater depth. After you have chosen the genocide you want to focus on, you will then use the internet to research both governmental and non-
governmental responses to that genocide. You will then share your findings by creating a magazine article or radio news
report that explains what governmental and non-governmental responses have been to the modern genocide.
Step 1: Select a Modern Genocide

Step 2: Select a Presentation Format
• podcast
• magazine article
Step 3: Create your Presentation
For either type of presentation you must:
• include a headline (magazine article) OR a title (podcast)
• write a magazine article that is at least two paragraphs long OR record a podcast that is at least three minutes in length
summarize at least one governmental response to the genocide
. summarize at least one non-governmental response to the genocide
• describe in two to three sentences what further measures need to be taken to prevent genocide in the world today.
