 Patricia Roberts Harris was the first Black woman to serve in the Cabinet. She was also appointed as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Jimmy Carter in1977 and done good work in the field. Hazel R. O'Leary was the second  African American woman to serve in the Cabinet during the presidency of Clinton in 1990s as Secretary of Energy in the United States of America. Alexis Herman was the first  African American woman to serve as the Secretary of Labor during the administration of President Bill Clinton.
