Based on the text below, identify and explain two factors that allowed Christianity to spread throughout the Roman Empire? (minimum of 4 sentences)

text: “The Pax Romana, which made travel and the exchange of ideas fairly safe, provided the ideal conditions for Christianity to spread. The Roman road network, originally created by Augustus to help send armies and messages throughout the empire, became a highway for Christians traveling to convert new followers. Furthermore, ideas of Christianity were easily spread because most of the Roman Empire spoke common languages- Latin and Greek.”

b. “Paul, a Christian missionary (a person sent on a religious mission, to promote a religion in a foreign land), had an enormous influence on the development of Christianity. After becoming a Christian, Paul made it his life’s mission to spread the word of Christ throughout the Roman Empire.”

c. In 312 A. D., “As I (Constantine) began to pray by the Tiber River to Apollo for victory in my battle, I saw a cross of light in the heavens. I ordered my soldiers to put the sign of the cross on their shields and I led them into battle. I realized that this was the sign of the Christian God, the same god my mother worshipped. I then converted (changed) to Christianity. Although I continued the reforms of Diocletian, I realized he was wrong about Christianity. So I created the Edict of Milan, making Christianity legal. I proclaimed, “…all men shall have the freedom to choose their own religion.”
