Oregon was described as a “pioneer's paradise" in the early 19th century that
sparked a movement of pioneers and their
families to pack up their belongings and
relocate in this new land of “endless
resources."
Assignment: Part of what sparked this
movement was people writing about the
benefits in this new location. Write a
postcard back home where you describe
the richness of the land you have just
traveled 6 months for in a covered wagon.
