One example of the use of a steam engine is Steamboats. This allowed people to travel over water quickly and in great numbers, helping introduce tourists to different sights or interests along the shoreline.  Additionally, there is the invention of railroads and steam-powered trains. Trains could travel wherever tracks could be built, which opened up opportunities for travel and tourism in several mountain towns, such as Georgetown, CO.
