9. How did the Spanish and French ex- plorers differ in their purposes and actions as
explorers?

The French and English wanted to expand their territory, while as the Spaniards and Portuguese, saw the lands as exploitation colonies to improve trade. This differ in purposes lead the English and French to exterminate nearly all the native Americans while the Spanish made the slaves and submissive.

Primary sources are usually  more accurate and are written by someone who experienced it or witnessed it. secondary sources are those who heard of it after the fact that can lose details and or twist the event in a light that benefits them.
