What was the main change that occurred after the Fourth Crusade? It was such a big failure that Europeans stopped going on Crusades.

After the Fourth Crusade, European Christians never won another victory against the Muslims.

Crusading was no longer about making pilgrimages. It became about fighting any enemy of the Catholic Church.
