Colonization of the Americas by the European starting in the early 1500s led to extermination of entire populations of Amerindians such as the Aztecs, Mayans and others through disease and conquest. It also led to foundation of modern nations on the continents such as USA, Canada, Bolivia, Venezuela, Mexico and others. Without colonization these modern nations would probably be non-existent. Ancient civilizations such as the Mayans could also probably still thrive today.

There is need to understand that everything that happens are influenced by history of what has happened in the past.

Everything currently happening are shaped by the past events the country have been through.Numbers of mistakes been made in history and these serves as guides for the current era in navigating the world.An example of influence is when the European brought the religion of Christianity into United State in the 16th century although the immigration also influenced the acceptance of the religion in the state. Today, the influence have direct impact on the daily lifestyle of the some United state citizen.
