The local board of education, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, has now authorized mandatory prayer times at the beginning of the day. This is done as an attempt to accommodate an increase of Muslim students, who hold ritual prayers throughout the day. Is this a violation of the first amendment considering how the board of education is elected by the community?
