A CHALLANGE DOWN HERE A farmer took a loan of sh 3 million from a financial corporation to finance his agricultural ventures. He used the money to buy 20 hectares of land at sh 120000 per hectare and the rest of the money in developing the land. The loan was to be repaid in 10 equal yearly instalments together with compund interest at the rate of 15% per annum on tne outstanding amount at the beginning of every year. The farmer paid the 6 instalment together with interest without any problem. From the end of the seventh year, however, he could not continue to repay the loan. As a result he was forced to sell part of his land at the end of the tenth year in order to clear the loan. If the present land value is 25 % more than it was 10 years earlier, determine the least number of hectares he would sell in order to clear the loan.
