The structure of authority within the factories was very binary, in the sense that there was a "boss" or overseer, and then there were workers who often worked on the lines and were treated very poorly. 

The structure of authority within the new factory in the industrial revolution is Owner, Overseer, and Worker.
Wherein the owner is the primary decision maker who relays said decisions to the factory’s overseer to be complied by the workers regardless of their concerns and misgivings.
Factory owners usually enjoy lavish lifestyles as a result of having the majority of the factory’s profit given to them. Overseers are paid quite adequately to live comfortable lives while the workers, who labored the most, are only paid a small amount sometimes lower than the minimum wage.
