This is civics. we dont have a section for it but i need what happens if someone who can't afford an attorney needs legal representation during a trial? local government will provide a loan for the defendant. the person will be incarcerated for a minimum of 30 days. the state will appoint a lawyer called a public defender. the district attorney will represent the defendant at trial.
