EXPLANATION:

There are some significances of the Warring States Period in China:

1. Before the Period, a king would separate his land and give a part of it to his supporters in exchange for their promised loyalty and service. And in turn, these supporters, or nobles, would separate their terrestrial and provide a part of it to their supporters in exchange for their promised loyalty and service. This hierarchy operated well when the terrestrial was not rare and the inhabitant was at a low level.  

However, as the population slowly grew and there was insufficient land to afford food, the hierarchy was in threatening. So, states started to battle each other for people and land. Strong states conquered weak states and captivated them. The result is a unified China, born out of numerous tribal states.

2. After the Period, even though China from time to time had been ripped into parts, people still noticed the possibility to unite this nation because their dynasties did it before (Qin in 221 BCE), they did it again in less than 20 years (Han in 202 BCE), and persisted doing it over and over again in history. This is a great reason for every determined ruler in China’s history and maybe the motivation that kept China organized for thousands of years.
