As a conclusion of the Allied attack on Sicily, the Italian king arrested Mussolini. It happened on 1943 when he was jailed as he was withdrawing from an encounter with the King, whose name was Vittorio Emanuele. The king seized him in order to sign the truce. Mussolini was soon discharged by the Germans, but it wasn't long until he was apprehended and crucified by combatant forces of the Italian Resistance.
