The Hohokam people are the prehistoric American Indians, who live around AD 200 to 14000 in the semi arid region of the present day central Arizona. The major occupation of the people was agriculture and corn was their most cultivated crop. Because of the nature of their land, the people built canals for channeling water to their farms so that their crops will not fail.
