Year 2007 was the most violent of the entire occupation. The number of dead and injured shot to a maximum due to the insurgent offensive, both in civilian victims and Iraqi security forces and in casualties of foreign troops. In 2007 alone, approximately 904 US servicemen died in Iraq and more than 6,000 of the same nation were injured, which is the highest figure in the entire occupation.
