What was a position of the whig party during the jackson administration?

The Whig party opposed the Jackson administration on all fronts. The Whig party was made up of powerful people that were removed from the big government posts and replaced by those that were close to Jackson. This led to the joining of these men along with other dissatisfied people for the sole purpose of opposing president Jackson. The name whig did not have any connection of wearing wigs. This word was derived from the old Scottish word " whiggamore". The opposing Whig party mocked the policy of Jackson as he went on filling important government posts with his near and dear peoples.
