Many people think that television debates have long-lasting impacts on the mind of voters and these debates do play an important part during voting and also may affect election results. Many people even argue that it is the presidential debate which decides the next president of the country as the Presidential candidate who puts his point regarding some issue effectively in front of everyone during that debate, Wins the election. Not only the points you keep in front of everyone matters but the presence and the conviction with which one is debating also makes an impact. The Debate between John F. Kennedy and Nixon was a true example of this convectional presence. During the debate, Kennedy appeared to be well-groomed and he was making eye contact with the camera whereas Nixon was sweating and looked unprofessional in his approach and at the time of election results, Nixon lost but by a narrow margin. Debates are an important part of any election campaign as they decide who will win the election.
