Why was plymouth a less successful trade center than the other new england colonies?

Several reasons contributed to the fact that Plymouth was a less successful trade center than the other New England colonies. The traders would be less interested in a place that did not have a great sea port. The people of Plymouth were also not highly interested in trading of goods with other countries. The port that Plymouth had was also not great compared to the other ports or harbors in that region. The combination of all these negative factors made Plymouth a less successful trading center.
