A battery is a device that is able to store electrical energy in form of electrical energy, and converts or transform that energy into electrical energy. A person cannot catch and store electricity, but they can store electrical energy in the chemicals inside a battery.
  Energy exists in many forms such as heat, light, electrical energy and mechanical energy.  In our day to day life, there are many examples of how one form of energy is transformed into another.  A car engine converts chemical energy from petrol into mechanical energy that drives the car along. Solar energy from the sun is captured by solar panels and transformed into electrical energy to run electrical  appliances.
