Three areas of Russian life that Peter the Great reformed:

The administrative system: He divided the nation into eight governorates in replacement of the old system of Uyezds divisions (consisting of cities and their immediate surrounding areas). He also established the Governing Senate whose members were appointed by him, and Landrats (councils) and Collegias (government departments), and later on, he molded the governatoes according to the Swedish system.The Education: He originally modernized the education to educate the army and the navy on science and math so they could represent a threat to the rest of Europe, this knowledge would teach them how to correctly use artillery taking into consideration the angles, for example. And eventually, Peter determined it was also important to encourage noblemen to study technology, economic theory, math, political science, among others.The church: Peter subordinated the Church to his reign, which until his reign it had been semi-autonomous. The Emperor was eager to seize the wealth of it in order to become richer and so that it could not be a rival to its ruling. He achieved to do this when the Patriarch Adrian, died and instead of replacing him, he gave control of church property to a government department called the Monastyrskii Prikaz. Eventually, it became fully linked to the state.

Agriculture: Although Peter attempted to modernize Agriculture by providing modern equipment to farmers such as harrows and ploughs, he was not successful in this: the farmers refused to do so mainly because of conservative attitudes or superstitious beliefs, and the Russian territory was so vast that Peter could not control every aspect of the country.
