Thomas Jefferson.

  Thomas Jefferson, one of the Founding Fathers of America and the third President of the United States. Jefferson is known as the principal author of the Declaration of Independence of 1776. He wrote the first draft, that then came to revision by the committee members and the Second Continental Congress.

General Burgoyne.

    British General John Burgoyne surrender to American forces in 1777. Burgoyne was supposed to meet other British generals at Albany, New York to isolate New England from the Revolution. After fighting with General Horatio Gates and General Philip Schuyler, he ran out of food and army and had no help from other British generals, so there was no other choice than to surrender, Burgoyne returned to England and faced strong criticism.

    Richard Henry Lee proposed Independence for the Colonies at the Second Continental Congress by presenting The Lee Resolution that was composed by three parts: The declaration of Independence, a call to action and the Plan of confederation. General Cornwallis.

    In 1781, even when the Independence was declared 5 years ago, British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered his 8,000 British troops in Yorktown after facing American and French troops, Cornwallis and his army were captured. This event closed the American Revolution.
