How were old imperialism and new imperialism similar?

The similarities between old and new imperialism would be, the essence of every imperialism is the conquest and possession of another country. Further,  the exploitation and the extraction of natural goods, gold, agricultural products, exploitation and enslavement of the workforce of the colonized countries as well as the demand for new markets, and the strengthening of imperial powers. Also, in both cases it is a military conquest, and direct colonial rule.

The similarities between old and new imperialism is that imperialism aims at the conquest and possession of another country.

Imperialism stands for extending the nation's rule over overseas nations either by political alliance or military alliance. It just aims at the extending of nations' territories. It was a prevalent conquest concept widely adopted by many nations in history. Imperialism means annexation of another nation either it is new Imperialism or old Imperialism. In modern days it is prohibited as per the International law and is considered as international propaganda to denounce other nations' foreign policies.

One such example of Imperialism in our history is the Imperialism of Africa by European nations. The imperialism of Africa was done through the Berlin Conference of 1884 that planned the European trade and colonization. Much of the territories of Africa came under the colonization of Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Britain. The desire of colonization of Africa was for the quest of valuable natural resources present in the continent.
