As a first responder, why is it important to understand the different ways in which people respond both physically and physiologically to crises? why is it important for first responders to not have any preconceived notions about how a person "should" present? for example, all victims of sexual assault may have a very different presentation after the event. some may be hysterical, some sad, some in shock, some may appear to be calm. why is it important to understand that these are all acceptable responses to a crisis?
