Suppose it’s midnight and a person calls 911 from a restaurant. The individual identifies himself as John and an employee reports that a person is banging with his fists on the locked door of the restaurant and demanding to be let inside. Caller ID confirms the call is coming from the Taco Bell. Your patrol unit is dispatched to the scene. When you arrive at the scene what can you do in regard to the individual who is now standing by the restaurant door? Critically analyze the situation and refer to relevant material from the text. What do you have the right to do? What would you do? Be very specific and describe how you think the scene might play out and what you would have the authority to do. What facts might change the way you respond to the situation?
